# accountable.finance

> Accountable Finance is a quantitative investing platform where investors build, backtest, and track rules-based stock strategies using a proprietary ranking and filtering engine — powered by daily Morningstar fundamentals data.

## How the Platform Works

Strategies are defined by two components:
- **Rankers**: Score and rank stocks based on financial metrics (e.g., ROE, free cash flow, momentum).
- **Filters**: Hard exclusion rules (e.g., market cap minimums, profitability requirements, no ADRs).

The engine applies rankers and filters daily to produce a ranked stock list. Users can trade the top N stocks from that list on a defined schedule.

**Important**: Accountable Finance does not currently execute trades. Users execute through their own brokerage. Portfolio performance is tracked via Plaid sync or manual trade entry.
